I really am more suited to microblogging than blogging. I'm the kind of person who wants to write in short, to-the-point bursts. I can barely write 1,000 words under a single title. And even if I did, it'd be buried by AI anyway. The value of writing on the web has genuinely dropped. There's an oversupply — so unless it's pre-AI content, essays and criticism heavy on emotion and lived experience, or a seriously narrow niche (blue ocean), you can't capture demand. Natural language models were the first to go, so the web fell first, but Instagram, YouTube, Spotify will all fall eventually too. I can't read where things are heading right now, so I think the right move for the near term is to stay at arm's length and chase short-term gains.
